Shanga
Shanga crafts a pop-soul sound infused with Afro, jazz and hip-hop influences, which she calls “Rhythmic Soul”. Born to a Nigerian father and Swiss mother, she grew up between Bern and Lagos, at the crossroads of two cultures whose contrasts have shaped her creative universe. Initially a sound engineer, she stepped to the other side of the studio in 2013 with her debut EP, aptly titled Embracing Vulnerability. Showcasing her versatility, she writes, produces and accompanies herself on guitar. Alongside her partner and co-producer Bisi Udemba (Beat Chronicles), she went on to release two albums, Bold and Bold II. The latter reached number two on the Billboard Swiss Digital Sales Charts.
