Lakiko feat. Laurent Nicoud
Cellist, singer and composer, Lakiko creates soundscapes that transcend boundaries alongside pianist Laurent Nicoud, blending classical virtuosity, free improvisation and contemporary influences. Born in Sarajevo and trained in Bremen and Bern, Lakiko won first prize at the Creative Music Awards in Germany in 2023. That same year, her solo album What To Do, How To Live? was named among SRF’s best classical records. Neuchâtel-born pianist Laurent Nicoud first attracted attention in 2020 with Outline, which was acclaimed by the international jazz press. Awarded a grant by the Canton of Lucerne in 2026, the duo are currently preparing their first joint album, Yoku Mireba. Lakiko performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2021, before being invited two years later by the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation to the Swiss Cultural Centre in Paris.
