Jean Phi Dary
A keyboardist, composer and producer of French and Guyanese descent, Jean-Philippe Dary has built a career at the crossroads of African, jazz, pop, reggae and electronic music. His credits include opening for Peter Gabriel’s American tour alongside Papa Wemba, as well as collaborations with Touré Kunda, Alpha Blondy, Paco Séry and the duo Sly and Robbie. For the past twenty years, he has worked closely with his close friend Tony Allen, recording nearly ten albums together featuring artists such as Damon Albarn, Jeff Mills and Ernest Ranglin. In 2021, he presented his electro-jazz project The Paradox at the Montreux Jazz Festival in a duo with Jeff Mills, a concert later immortalized on a live album the following year.
